About the item
Beautiful Moment bench in bent birch plywood by the Dutch artist Ruud Jan Kokke. This Moment bench was designed in 1992 by Kokke for the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, to be placed in public spaces of the museum. Kembo produced the Moment series during 1993 and 1994. These benches were indeed used for years in the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam but were also used in other public spaces within the Netherlands.
The design is very minimal yet very playful at the same time. The bench is made out of one sheet of plywood and was formed through bending and cutting techniques. The birch plywood material consists of multiple layers and has been bent both on the outer ends and the middle. The bench has a floating pattern and provides two seating places in the curves. The bench is perforated in the top to provide for a visually interesting look. The feet are made out of a rubber-plastic.
The bench still bears the original KEMBO sticker below the bench.

The bench is in a very good vintage condition, with some minor wear on the top.
