About the item

A rare set of 2 side tables in brushed steel, glass and walnut, of unknown exact provenance however very likely of Italian origin and coming from the 1970s. They are certainly in the manner of Renato Zevi and Romeo Rega.

These modernist side tables resemble a Memphis style, but certainly have their own presence. They even are reminiscing of the art-deco era.

With their sculpted steel frame and a slight hint to the Barcelona designs of Mies van der Rohe in terms of the geometry of the feet. The frame consists out of cast steel, brushed afterwards. The feet flow over in a cilinder shape on each end of the frame, ornamented with a piece of solid walnut in the middle on both sides. The glass plate rests in between the cilinders on each end.

The tables are heavy and made of high quality materials, with beautiful finish.

The tables can be used either as side tables, low console tables or just as coffee tables.

About its condition

The tables are in very good vintage condition, with some minor wear on the glass in the form of scratches due to usage. The walnut has some slight traces of use as well.
