Model 1721 sleeper sofa by Andre Cordemeyer for Gispen 1999

SOLD TO UTRECHT, NETHERLANDS

About the item

A 1721 sofa by the infamous Dutch designer Andre Cordemeyer for Gispen, production 1999.

In blue/black dotted De Ploeg Accent fabric with a black steel frame.

Sofa has a full sleeping function by tiling the seating part.

The Cordemeyer editions are recognizable through their feet and the designed connection at the leaning part. As well, the leaning part has a hard plastic rear cover.

In contrast to other similar sofas from Martin Visser, Gijs van der Sluis or Rob Parry, the Cordemeyer sofas have removable sleeve cover which makes replacing the fabric quite easy to do.

It concerns a more rare 190 cm wide edition (most are 160 cm wide) and therefore can be considered as a full 3-seater sofa. The authenticity of the sofa can be easily traced through Stichting Gispen, whereby the 1720 was the non sleeper version and 1721 the sleeper version.

Original sticker still present on the frame.
