Dining table by Wim den Boon and W.J. Kok for Goed Wonen Netherlands 1950s
About the item
Very rare dining table by Wim den Boon and W.J. Kok for Goed Wonen Netherlands 1950s.
Constructed in solid oak wood in scissor shaped beams, with a large central beam in the middle. The formica plate rests within a solid wood oak frame. Sober Dutch design but yet a very elegant and well constructed table.
This design can only be traced back in the edition of the Goed Wonen catalog 1950. The model is here shown in a different K1 desk setup alteration. The desk is here shown as a W.J. Kok design, designed and produced by W.J. Kok for Goed Wonen. The scissor construction was redesigned/remade by Wim den Boon, while adding the horizontal beam, to make it more suitable for a dining table. It’s unclear whether this table is a one-off design by Wim den Boon or if it was produced in (small) numbers.
An original picture of the table is added as provenance too. The table comes from a house with multiple Wim den Boon pieces.
The model bears similarities with the Ate van Apeldoorn X-base dining table.

The table is in good condition, with the formica top having been replaced in a later stage due to wear.
