Brutalist pine wood dining chair by Rainer Daumiller for Hirtshals Savvaerk 1980s, set of 4
About the item
This set of 4 polished pine chairs by Rainer Daumiller is an excellent example of a brutalist furniture style.
Produced by Hirtshals Savvaerk Mobler Denmark (Hirtshals Sawmill).
The set is made according to Scandinavian quality and design. The pine is crafted to be as ergonomical as possible, accommodating the human body perfectly. Thanks to the ergonomical design and quality pine, the chairs are very comfortable. The chairs have a simple, yet distinctive shape.
The chairs have been build very sturdy out of solid pine wood. In the specific case it concerns armchairs in the typical Daumiller style with the round feet and the rounded seat and backrest.
The pine wood still has all of its original patterns and carvings visible which creates a beautiful effect on the chairs. The pine has been treated through polishing.
There are no markings on the chairs but can be easily traced through archival records.
Considering it concerns polished pine wood, it concerns a later 1980s production.
About its condition
The chairs are in excellent condition overall, with only very small traces of use visible.
