Achilles Mid-century Teak daybed by Rawi Winschoten Netherlands 1950s
SOLD TO PARIS, FRANCE
About the item
Beautiful teak and metal daybed by the late Dutch manufacturer Rawi Winschoten.
The daybed was a competitor back in the days for Auping beds from Friso Kramer and Andre Cordemeyer.
There have been less of these daybeds sold compared to Auping so they are more rare.
What we personally value more for this daybed, compared to the Auping beds, is that the entire bed frame is encompassed with wood. If a mattress is placed on the bedframe. the steel frame isn’t visible anymore. This creates a much more aesthetic visual effect.
As well, the feet are retractable so the bed can be stored very compact. The bed is build very solid.
The original markings are present on the bed.
The bed will be delivered including mattress, white fabric mattress cover and head roll pillow (in black fabric).
About its condition
In good overall condition with some minor wear visible on the wood. No corrosion on the steel frame and structurally solid.
